As quite a sizable installation of random new musics today
selections and of interwoven experimental photographic archive nmk
visuals this project had much encouraging support from a good number
composers that willingly participated to the collection of this
experimental venture of teoman madra... Upon an occasional request
from pianist-composer basak dilara özdemir, she has contributed
ample occasions of actual, decided advisory supports along theon
going preparations of this installation.

newmediakitchen.com
is a website of many years having an interest on new media art making
and experimentations... new images figurative or in abstractions
specifically the latter ones, i rather decided to call them at this
project "teograms" as a retrospective nomenclature...
and for a long period of time i tried to place my visuals in accordance
to new musics, modern or avangtarde jazz, composed new musics, computer
based musical creativities will be tried to get closely inspected
with macro installation setups, round about and carefully trying
to approache as cool and open minded as possible... in the meantime
throughout the triangleproject interactivities as a visual artist
next to music i will continue to emphasize my own choices... for
many reasons i will try to include few extra random works from
ilhan mimaroglu b 1921.with my special respects for him and
a distant interest on what he did during 70's, 80's. Here, from
his small hand sized booklet that he published in 2004 from panyayinlari
openly he is blurbing as follows:
with
new music a kind of nationalism can come into scene, but not with
quarrels saying in a sort of perverse robinhoodery -stealing from
the poor giving to the rich- nationalist
alternative is no way ... with a nice restpectful guidance to Ives
music i wanted to say Ives' music was like a new wave in musical
nationalism -very individual and unique maybe, hence not repeatable,
quite opposite to stereotyped and sterile nationalism of the conventional
nationalist approaches to musical creativity
would you like to speak on behalf of the record history... is your
soul marketable? if not, it is better to remain a composer... the
con temporary composer refuses to die ... let us
recognize that are to get us. -performers who do not perform our
music, -recitalists,
chamber ensembles and conducters, symphony orkestras, -publishers
who do not publish
our musics, -record companies who do not record our m usics....when
i say this country is
bad, don't think other countries are any better... This whole country
is a cultural graveyard...
actually our musics don't sell, so it will net sell the music that
does not sell... if art is not for the public, the inversion goes...
if it is not for the public it is not art... a work of art has not
value other than what we assign to it, what i like is good, no exception
what thers like is bad... some exceptions -that is hardcore aesthetics....
calling a judge justice is like calling an artist a masterpiece.....
ilhan mimaroglu lives in newyork as composer
